osalind Chan is a cutting-edge cake designer and international instructor who is setting new standards in wedding cake design and cake decorating in both Malaysia and Canada . Her classes on cake decorating have also gained international recognition whereby she has conducted courses for people from various walks of lives ranging from homemakers and professionals to pastry chefs in countries such as Canada, Japan, China, Singapore and Malaysia.
Rosalind grew up amidst beautifully decorated birthday cakes that her mother, her mentor till today, baked and created. Influenced by this, her interest in baking and decorating began at a very tender age. Her cakes and sugarpaste flowers are known for their captivating meticulous designs and for their unsurpassed creativity and realistic look. A master with the piping bag, Rosalind's originality in creating her edible masterpieces demand attention due to their uniqueness and leave lasting impressions.
Rosalind took up business and law studies in Britain and continued with a BA from the American University of Sarasota through an affiliated British night school. Not forgetting her aspirations, she continued learning the finer arts of cake decorating from top British cake designers and decorators. She immigrated to Canada in 1991 and continued to pursue her interest and education in this field.
Her impressive credentials include a Masters in French Pastries from the renowned Ritz Escoffier in Paris, a Diploma in Bakery Arts from a renowned Culinary School in Toronto (George Brown College), an advanced Wilton Method Instructor Certificate, a Masters Diploma in Cake Decorating from the renowned Wilton Cake Decorating School in Chicago (U.S.A), a Diploma in Advanced Australian Method of Cake Decorating, and a Diploma in The Lambeth Method of Cake Decorating. She has also received numerous other certificates and diplomas in advanced sugarpaste/gumpaste flowers and chocolate works from world renowned artists in the world of cake decorating. Rosalind was also awarded the International Instructor Award by Wilton Industries (U.S.A) in 1997 and was inducted into their Wilton Hall of Fame the same year.
She has been featured in various Canadian and Malaysian media and is a member of solid standing with the British Sugarcraft Guild, the Canadian Society of Sugar Artistry as well as demonstrator at the International Cake Exploration Society in the United States. She has also won numerous cake competition awards and has demonstrated at many local functions within Canada.
Rosalind has furthered her passion with her debut entrepreneurial venture with the opening of the first ever authorized and certified Wilton Method Instruction Training Centre in Petaling Jaya. It is also a one of a kind retail outlet catering solely to this industry, offering the most up-to-date cake decorating materials and tools sourced internationally.
